President, Head Coach
Carol Brown
Carol is entering her 14th year of coaching cheerleading; holds USASF certification at all 5 levels for stunting, tosses, and tumbling; and attends USASF coaches conferences for continued education. She has coached both high school and all-star state and national championship teams, and has had multiple finishes in the top three spots at numerous other events.
Carol was born in England and immigrated (with her family) to the United States in 1956. She became a citizen in 1963 and is very “proud to be an American’ - which is why the name of this organization is more than just letters, colors, and a mascot. Although she is grateful for her English heritage Carol reminds everyone that she is a Brit by birth - but an American by choice.
In her “other” life, Carol is a graphic designer for Dewberry, Inc., an Engineering Consulting Firm in Carlisle, for which her husband, Bill, is a Senior Vice-President and Branch Manger. Carol cheered for Cumberland Valley in the sixties, has been married to her high-school sweetheart for 38 years. They have two sons; Michael (34) who lives in Phoenix with his wife, Tracey and son Mason; and Jeremy (32) who currently resides with his fiancee, Lauren, in Annapolis, MD.
Cheer Coach
Becky Stamy
Becky got her start in recreational cheer working with Pee Wee, Pony and Midget squads. She loves competition and has the patience to learn all the ins and outs of coaching all-star teams - not to mention a good eye for what the judges like! Becky was also a talented member of the Stars' Parent/Coach team. She and husband Mike have a daughter, Morgan (15) who is currently on our Senior Co-Ed team. Becky is USASF certified for levels 1-3 for stunting, tosses and tumbling.
Tumbling Coach
Jason Pinos
Jason is an independent instructor who currently teaches tumbling classes for the USA Stars. A former IUP cheerleader, he has coached high school and all-star cheerleading for the past 13 years and teaches tumbling and stunting to both high school and all-star teams. In addition, Jason is a USASF credentialed coach at all 5 levels for stunting, tosses, and tumbling and he also holds judging certification for all levels by CheerLTD. Jason was the 2005-2006 recipient of the Pennsylvania Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors Coach of the Year Award. In his “spare” time, Jason is a high school science teacher.
Cheer Coach
Amber Williams
Amber is proof that you can become a good cheerleader in a short amount of time. She joined her high school JV program in the middle of her junior year, made Varsity in the spring, earned a NCA All-American nomination in the summer, and was a member of a State Championship team in the fall. A quick learner, Amber is also a terrific teacher, especially with the younger cheerleaders. She is an excellent main base and really knows how to use facial expression. Amber is married to her high school sweetheart, Adam Williams and after a two-year hiatus in North Carolina (Adam is a US Marine) she returned in the fall of 2008 to work once again with the Stars. Amber is USASF certified for Levels 1-3 for stunting, tosses and tumbling.
Standing Tumbling Coach
Mike Ulrich
Mike provides instruction for standing tumbling for beginners through level 3. Affectionately known as Coach MU, he comes to the Stars with a strong background in All-Star tumbling and coaching. In his “real” life he is an excellent plumber. Mike’s daughter, Danielle, is currently on our top Senior team and his wife, Anna, coordinates sneaker orders for our cheerleaders.
Cheer & Tumbling Coach
Sean Shambaugh
Sean is a former high school and college cheerleader - he cheered and competed on the Elmira College team and earned third place at the NCA college nationals in Daytona. Sean is also a staff member for NCA where he was recently promoted to Head Instructor...and of course, Sean teaches at several NCA camps each summer. He has returned to the area since graduating from college and is coming to practices when ever his work schedule allows him... and he has done a great job already in helping all of our teams improve stunts, jumps and tumbling - especially the Youth Team. We are glad to have Sean on board and hope he can take on a team and spend even more time with the Stars.
Cheer Coach
Danielle Hair
Danielle is a former high school cheerleader who also cheered with the Stars on both a Senior and Open team. She is now getting her feet wet as a coach and devotes most of her time to the Youth and Tiny Teams. Danielle is learning quickly and enjoys working with the younger teams - and they enjoy her!
